Imagine waking up to your baby girl having a whole snack—literally—in her hair. Not a crumb or a smudge… but a full-sized Snickers bar. Lodged. In. Her. Curls.
Tightly pressed into her delicate strands, wrapped in what can only be described as a tangle of chocolate, caramel, and chaos.
Now, let me be clear—my daughter is tender-headed. Her scalp is sensitive. So the moment I realized we had a candy bar situation tangled in her tresses, I panicked. Do I cut it out? Will it melt? Will it just get worse?
My thoughts spiraled.
But then—I took a deep breath. I paused. I began to think about what others have done in situations like this. And that's when it hit me: maybe the solution is hidden within the problem itself.
Peanuts.
More specifically, peanut butter.
Skeptical? Absolutely. But I was desperate, and desperate times call for sticky solutions. And BABY… it did not disappoint.
The Process: A Sticky Situation Turned Sweet Victory
Here’s how I tackled it:
Take some peanut butter out—yes, the kind you put on toast.
Use an applicator or your hand—whichever you can grab quickest while managing a squirming toddler.
Generously slather it onto the affected area. You want to cover the “foreign matter” (read: Snickers) completely.
Rub it in gently. Let it sit for a few minutes.
Comb it out—and miraculously, the sticky mess begins to break down and slide out with minimal resistance.
Aftercare: Because the Hair Still Matters
Rinse out as much as you can.
Shampoo and condition, focusing especially on the affected area.
Be gentle, and yes—there were minimal tears (and one relieved mama).
Everything came out. Every bit of nougat, nut, and nonsense. And just like that, my baby was ready for her next hairstyle.
Lesson Learned: Keep the Peanut Butter Handy
I’m officially adding peanut butter to my mom and beauty professional toolkit. Future mishaps? I’m ready. Sticky situations? Bring it on.
But now I’m curious… what would a full-head peanut butter treatment look like?
(Stay tuned. Because I just might try it.)
